Originally from Tantallon, I started working as a caregiver at a local nursing home while pursuing my practical nursing diploma from Nova Scotia Community College, which I completed in 2014. Motivated to further my expertise, I pursued a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at St. Francis-Xavier University, graduating with distinction in 2023. For the past decade, I've worked as a nurse in both acute care and long-term care settings, working extensively with geriatric inpatients and long-term care residents. In 2023, I made the decision to shift my focus to community care, realizing that this was in fact, my passion. Recognizing the challenges posed by the provincial healthcare crisis and the increasing need for homecare services related to limited long-term care facility/hospital beds, I wanted to work to support Nova Scotians in maintaining their independence and autonomy at home for as long as possible. Thankfully, I am able to fulfill that passion working with RWHC. Outside of work, I find solace in traveling, reading, and baking.
